Postpartum vacuity swelling of the limbs

产后四肢虚肿 〔產後四肢虛腫〕chǎn hòu sì zhī xū zhǒng

A condition characterized by generalized green-blue swelling accompanied by inhibited flow of the lochia. Postpartum vacuity swelling of the limbs arises when vanquished blood has not been completely eliminated, and flows into the channels and network vessels.

Medicinal therapy: Quicken the blood and transform stasis with Channel-Regulating Powder (调经散 tiáo jīng sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, SP, and ST. Select CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), CV-3 (Central Pole, 中极 zhōng jí), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), and BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù); needle with even supplementation and drainage.
