Phlegm epilepsy

痰痫 〔痰癇〕tán xián

Epilepsy attributed to fright or fear in individuals suffering from phlegm-heat. Phlegm epilepsy is characterized by sudden collapse, fright, shouting, phlegm-drool congestion, and phlegm foaming at the mouth.

Medicinal therapy: Dispel phlegm and clear heat with Phlegm-Rolling Pill (滚痰丸 gǔn tán wán).

Acumoxatherapy: Use the general points for epilepsy, and further needle CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), and ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ).
