Boosting qì and engendering liquid

益气生津 〔益氣生津〕 yì qì shēng jīn

A method of treating qì vacuity and liquid depletion arising from excessive sweating, and characterized by fatigue, shortness of breath, dry mouth and thirst, and a vacuous pulse. An example of a qì-boosting liquid-engendering formula is Pulse-Engendering Powder (生脉散 shēng mài sǎn), which contains ginseng (Ginseng Radix, 人参 rén shēn), ophiopogon (Ophiopogonis Radix, 麦门冬 mài mén dōng), and schisandra (Schisandrae Fructus, 五味子 wǔ wèi zǐ).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, ST, SP, back transport points, and KI. Select CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), LU-9 (Great Abyss, 太渊 tài yuān), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī), and KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi); needle with supplementation and moxa. For excessive sweating, add LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), and KI-7 (Recover Flow, 复溜 fù liū),
