Painful swelling of the orificium vaginae, sometimes with rough (disfluent) urination, lower abdominal discomfort, and even heat effusion and aversion to cold. It is attributed to depressed anger damaging the liver, liver qì invading the spleen, and damp-heat pouring downward.
Medicinal therapy: Clear heat and disinhibit dampness with variations of Gentian Liver-Draining Decoction (龙胆泻肝汤lóng dǎn xiè gān tāng) as oral medication, and a combination of cnidium seed (Cnidii Fructus, 蛇床子shé chuáng zǐ), kochia (Kochiae Fructus, 地肤子dì fū zǐ), phellodendron (Phellodendri Cortex, 黄柏huáng bǎi), saposhnikovia (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 防风fáng fēng), and flavescent sophora (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, 苦参kǔ shēn) prepared as a steam-wash.
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV, LR, and SP. Select CV-3 (Central Pole, 中极 zhōng jí) BL-34 (Lower Bone-Hole, 下髎 xià liáo), LR-2 (Moving Between, 行间 xíng jiān), SP-9 (Yin Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo); needle with drainage. Also, use a moxa pole to smoke (rather than warm) the affected area for pain relief.
