Blood vacuity infertility

血虚不孕 〔血虛不孕〕xuè xū bù yùn

Female infertility due to emptiness of the thoroughfare (chōng) and controlling (rèn) vessels, preventing the nourishment of essence needed for conception. Blood vacuity infertility stems from spleen-stomach vacuity, from enduring illness, from loss of blood, or from damage to yīnand is accompanied by emaciation, withered-yellow facial complexion, fatigue and lack of strength.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the blood, nourish yīn, and enrich the kidney using Essence-Nourishing Jade-Planting Decoction (养精种玉汤 yǎng jīng zhòng yù tāng), comprising cooked rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 熟地黄 shú dì huáng), Chinese angelica (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 当归 dāng guī), white peony (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 白芍药 bái sháo yào), and cornus (Corni Fructus, 山茱萸 shān zhū yú).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on back transport points, SP, and ST. Select BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), ST-13 (Qì Door, 气户 qì hù), and Infant’s Palace (子宫 zǐ gōng); needle with supplementation and add moxa.
