Lubricating formula

One of the ten formula types. Lubricating [medicinals] can eliminate fixity, i.e., they can eliminate tangible binds in the body. For example, Mallow Seed Powder (葵子散 kuí zǐ sǎn), plus moneywort (Lysimachiae Herba, 金钱草 jīn qián cǎo) and lygodium spore (Lygodii Spora, 海金沙 hǎi jīn shā) can be used to treat stone strangury with painful urination or complete stoppage of urine. This formula contains the lubricating medicinals mallow seed (Malvae Semen, 冬葵子 dōng kuí zǐ) and dwarf elm bark (Ulmi Pumilae Cortex, 榆白皮 yú bái pí), which help to free the stones.
