Blood depletion amenorrhea

血亏经闭 〔血虧經閉〕xuè kuī jīng bì

Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation) due to blood depletion arising when loss of blood, early marriage, excessive number of births, or excessive breastfeeding causes damage to essence-blood. Blood depletion amenorrhea appears gradually, and menstrual flow gradually becomes increasingly scant until it finally ceases. It is accompanied by no thought of food and drink, dry skin, and emaciation.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the blood and boost qì using formulas such as Ginseng Provisioning-Nourishing Decoction (人参养荣汤 rén shēn yǎng róng tāng) or Perfect Major Supplementation Decoction (十全大补汤 shí quán dà bǔ tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment on CV and back transport points, selecting CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), BL-18 (Liver Transport, 肝俞 gān shù), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and the Four Flowers (四花 sì huā). Needle with supplementation and add moxa.
