Increasing water to move the ship

增水行舟 〔增水行舟〕zēng shuǐ xíng zhōu

Also refloating the grounded ship. A method of moist precipitation applied in warm disease to treat constipation due to heat bind and desiccation of humor and presenting as half vacuity, half repletion patterns.

Medicinal therapy: Increasing water to move the ship involves large doses Humor-Increasing Decoction (增液汤 zēng yè tāng), which contains large amounts of scrophularia (Scrophulariae Radix, 玄参 xuán shēn), dried/fresh rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix, 生地黄 shēng dì huáng), and ophiopogon (Ophiopogonis Radix, 麦门冬 mài mén dōng), which boost the fluids and eliminate the heat bind by facilitating the passage of stool. In cases of pronounced repletion heat, this formula can be supplemented with rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 大黄 dà huáng) and mirabilite (Natrii Sulfas, 芒硝 máng xiāo), thus forming Humor-Increasing Qì-Coordinating Decoction (增液承气汤 zēng yè chéng qì tāng).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on alarm, back transport, and lower uniting points of LI, and on LI and ST. Select BL-25 (Large Intestine Transport, 大肠俞 dà cháng shù), ST-25 (Celestial Pivot, 天枢 tiān shū), ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), LI-11 (Pool at the Bend, 曲池 qū chí), SP-14 (Abdominal Bind, 腹结 fù jié), ST-44 (Inner Court, 内庭 nèi tíng), and KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi); needle with drainage.
