Channel: ST, Foot Yáng Brightness (yáng míng) Stomach Channel
Modern location: An acupoint located on the dorsal aspect of the foot, about 1.5 cùn distal to ST-41, on the medial side of the common extensor tendon that attaches to the second toe.
Classic location: Going down from Ravine Divide (ST-41), [the point is] at a depression on the high point of the instep, where a pulse can be felt. (Yī Zōng Jīn Jiàn)
Local anatomy: The dorsal artery and vein of the foot, the dorsal venous network of the foot. Superficially, the medial dorsal cutaneous nerve of the foot derived from the superficial peroneal nerve; deeper, the deep peroneal nerve.
Action: Harmonizes the stomach and fortifies the spleen; settles fright and quiets the spirit.
Modern indications: Deviated mouth; toothache;
Classic indications: Swelling of the head and face;
Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.3 cùn oblique or perpendicular insertion. Avoid the artery. Moxa: 3 cones; pole 5‒10 min.
Point groups: Source point (yuán xué).
