Point name meaning:

The character (zhōng) is a reminder that the point is located in the middle of the two sinews, while (fēng) may be a reference to both the mound of flesh formed by the sinews and the fact that the point is sealed within the sinews. Mound Center and Sealed Center are therefore both acceptable translations of this name. See acupoint names: origins, meanings, and translations.
