Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid; warm; toxic.

Actions and indications: Relieves pain, resolves tetany; vanquishes toxin; dispels wind-damp; quickens the blood and disperses stasis.* Treats injury from knocks and falls; taxation damage; rheumatic arthritis; innominate toxin swellings (wú míng zhǒng dú); swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng) and clove sores (dīng).*

Dosage and method: Oral: (0.09–0.15g), grind to a powder (0.03–0.09g with cold water). Topical: Extract juice and blend with wine, water, or vinegar.
