Innominate toxin swelling
无名肿毒 〔無名腫毒〕wú míng zhǒng dú
Localized pain and swelling that suddenly appears on any part of the body. ... not a welling-abscess (yōng), not a flat-abscess (jū), not a sore, not lichen (xiǎn), resembling a malign sore in form, either healing or worsening; it is called an innominate toxin swelling.
It is caused by wind, cold, or heat lodging in the channels. When due to wind evil, there is neither head nor root. When due to qì contending with the blood, there is a head but no root. When due to wind-cold, the swelling is hard and white. When due to heat toxin, the swelling is red and hot.
