Properties: Sweet and acrid; balanced.

Channel entry: Lung and spleen channels.

Actions and indications: Dispels wind and disinhibits dampness; clears heat and resolves toxin. Treats common cold and heat effusion; wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain; dysentery; water swelling; strangury; vaginal discharge; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng); bleeding from external injury.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (30–60g fresh) or extract juice. Topical: Apply crushed.
