Properties: Salty; cold.

Indications:

Enriches yīn; downbears fire; softens hardness; disperses phlegm.

yáng exuberance and yīn vacuity; vigorous heat effusion; vexation and thirst; head wind and brain pain; red eyes; eye screens; double tongue (重舌 chóng shé); wooden tongue (木舌 mù shé); throat sores.

Dosage & Method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g) or use in powders and pills. Topical: Grind.

Warnings: Contraindicated in spleen vacuity cold.
