Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid.

Actions and indications: Stanches bleeding, disperses swellings, and relieves pain. Treats vomiting of blood (blood ejection); nosebleed (nǜ xuè); bloody stool; bleeding from external injury; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng); toxin sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–9g) or use in pills and powders. Topical: Grind and sprinkle on dry or apply blended with liquid.
