Actions and indications:
- Clears the lung and transforms phlegm; disinhibits the throat and restores the voice: Lung heat patterns of hoarseness, sore throat, and cough.
- Moistens the intestines and frees the stool: Constipation due to dryness and heat.
- Additional uses: Pàng dà hǎi can also be prepared as a wash for poor eruption in measles.
Dosage and method: Oral: 2–4 pieces; it may be either steeped as a tea or used in decoctions.
Production area: Mostly produced in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia (Sumatra), and Malaysia. Also grows in India.
