Properties: Sweet; cold. (Some sources say bitter.)

Channel entry: Heart and liver channels. (some sources also note gallbladder channel.)

Indications:

Clears heat and transforms phlegm; clears the heart and settles fright: Heart and liver channel phlegm-heat patterns, manifesting in child fright wind, wind stroke (stroke), epilepsy, and clouded spirit in febrile disease.

Dosage & Method: Oral: 3–6g in decoctions. It is also taken drenched as a powder, 0.6–1.0g each time.

Quality: Large shiny pale-yellow lumps that have high water absorbency are best.

Product Area: Yúnnán, Guǎngdōng.
