Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and bitter; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears the lung and disperses phlegm; cools the blood and stanches bleeding; dispels phlegm and transforms stagnation; frees the network vessels and relieves pain. Treats lung heat cough; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); flooding and spotting; bacillary dysentery; gān disease; wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain; injury from knocks and falls.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g) or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed.
