Ingredients:

• Jiāng cán (僵蚕 Bombyx Batryticatus , silkworm) 2g
• Quán xiē (全蝎 Scorpio , scorpion) 4.5g
• Wú gōng (蜈蚣 Scolopendra , centipede) 6g
• Shè xiāng (麝香 Moschus , musk) 1.5g
• Niú huáng (牛黄 Bovis Calculus, bovine bezoar) 1g
• Cí shí (磁石 Magnetitum , loadstone) 4.5g
• Chuān shān jiǎ (穿山甲 Manis Squama, pangolin scales) 3g
• Gōng dīng xiāng (公丁香 Caryophylli Flos, clove) 3g
• Mǔ dīng xiāng (母丁香 Caryophylli Fructus, clove fruit) 3g
• Bīng piàn (冰片 Borneolum , borneol) 3g
• Zhī zhū (蜘蛛 Aranea , spider) 7 pieces

Action: Draws out pus and toxin; disperses swelling and softens hardness.

Indication: Welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū), effusion of the back (fā bèi), mouth-level nape sore (duì kǒu chuāng), clove sores, and innominate toxin swellings.

Method: Grind the ingredients to a powder and sprinkle on the affected area.

Rationale: Dīng xiāng, Shè xiāng, Wú gōng, Zhī zhū, Quán xiē, and Cí shí disperse swelling and relieve pain. Niú huáng, Bīng piàn, Chuān shān jiǎ, and Jiāng cán draw out pus and toxin. This formula can disperse sores before they mature and can treat those that have already burst.
