Cinnamon Twig and Musk Powder
桂麝散 〔桂麝散〕 guì shè sǎn

Ingredients
- Má huáng (麻黄 Ephedrae Herba, ephedra)
- Xì xīn (细辛 Asari Rhizoma et Radix, asarum)
- Ròu guì (肉桂 Cinnamomi Cortex, cinnamon bark)
- Yá zào (牙皂 Gleditsiae Fructus Abnormalis, small gleditsia [fruit])
- Shēng bàn xià (生半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma Crudum, raw pinellia [rhizome])
- Dīng xiāng (丁香 Caryophylli Flos, clove)
- Tiān nán xīng (天南星 Arisaematis Rhizoma, arisaema [root])
- Shè xiāng (麝香 Moschus , musk)
- Bīng piàn (冰片 Borneolum , borneol)
Actions: Warms and transforms phlegm-damp; disperses swelling and relieves pain.
Indications: Painful, swollen yīn flat-abscess (yīn jū).
Method: Apply topically.
