Ingredients

• Xīn yí (辛夷 Magnoliae Flos, magnolia flower¹)
• Bǎi hé (百合 Lilii Bulbus, lily bulb)
• Zhī mǔ (知母 Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, anemarrhena [root])
• Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root])
• Shí gāo (石膏 Gypsum Fibrosum, gypsum)
• Mài dōng (麦冬 Ophiopogonis Radix, ophiopogon [root])
• Zhī zǐ (栀子 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit])
• Pí pá yè (枇杷叶 Eriobotryae Folium, loquat leaf)
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root])
• Shēng má (升麻 Cimicifugae Rhizoma, cimicifuga [root])

Actions: Clears heat and disinhibits the orifices; disperses stagnation and moistens dryness.

Indications: Lung heat with nasal congestion and runny nose with clear snivel, or nasal polyps. In modern clinical practice, it is used for 鼻闭塞, 鼻茸, hypertrophic rhinitis, and empyema manifesting in these signs.lī61
