Bupleurum and Officinal Magnolia Bark Decoction
柴朴汤 〔柴朴湯〕 chái pò tāng

Ingredients
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 4–7g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 5–6g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 3–4g
- Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 3g
- Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 2–3g
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root]) 2–3g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 2g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 5g
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) 3g
- Zǐ sū yè (紫苏叶 Perillae Folium, perilla leaf) 2g
Indications: Stubborn cough, panting or bronchial asthma with emotional depression, plum-pit qì, heart palpitation, and dizziness.
Method: Decoct with water.
