Kidney-Enriching Ear-Freeing Decoction
滋肾通耳汤 〔滋腎通耳湯〕 zī shèn tōng ěr tāng

Ingredients
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 3g
- Chuān xiōng (川芎 Chuanxiong Rhizoma, chuanxiong [rhizome]) 3g
- Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 3g
- Zhī mǔ (知母 Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, anemarrhena [root]) 3g
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 3g
- Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 3g
- Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 3g
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 3g
- Bái zhǐ (白芷 Angelicae Dahuricae Radix, Dahurian angelica) 3g
- Xiāng fù (香附 Cyperi Rhizoma, cyperus [rhizome]) 3g
Indications: Dizziness and tinnitus.
Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Shēng dì huáng enriches the kidney. Zhī mǔ enriches yīn and downbears fire. Huáng bǎi and Huáng lián clear heat. Dāng guī, Sháo yào, and Chuān xiōng nourish and quicken the blood. Bái zhǐ is an aromatic that awakens the brain, while Xiāng fù is an aromatic that normalizes qì.
