Pig's Intestine Pill
猪脏丸 〔豬臟丸〕 zhū zàng wán

Alternate Chinese names: Zàng lián wán (脏连丸 Pig's Intestines and Coptis Pill)
Ingredients
- Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) 60g
- Zhū dà cháng (猪大肠 Suis Intestinum Crassum, pig’s large intestine) 2 feet
Actions: Cools the blood and stanches bleeding.
Indications: Bloody stool, large food intake and rapid hungering, and absence of abdominal pain or tenesmus.
Method: Remove fat from the intestines, fill with coptis, and tie the ends. Boil until the intestines are so soft that they are falling apart, mash and form into pills the size of firmiana seeds.
Dosage: 30–50 pills at a time, swallowed with boiled rice water.
