Five Impediment Decoction
五痹汤 〔五痹湯〕 wǔ bì tāng

Ingredients
- Qiāng huó (羌活 Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, notopterygium [root]) 9g
- Jiāng huáng (姜黄 Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, turmeric) 9g
- Dāng guī (当归 Angelicae Sinensis Radix, Chinese angelica) 9g
- Xiān máo (仙茅 Curculiginis Rhizoma, curculigo [root]) 9g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 6g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 5 slices
- Bái zhú (白朮 Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, white atractylodes [root]) 12g
- Hǎi tóng pí (海桐皮 Erythrinae Cortex, erythrina [bark]) 9g
Actions: Dispels wind, quickens the blood, and relieves pain.
Indications: Wind-damp damage with pain in the shoulder and back or from the lumbus down.
Method: Decoct with water.
