Actions: Nourishes the blood and engenders flesh; dispels stasis and relieves pain.
Indications:
Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Rǔ xiāng and Mò yào quicken the blood and dispel stasis, helping to relieve pain. Chuān xiōng, Dāng guī, Bái sháo, and Shú dì huáng—which together constitute Sì wù tāng (四物汤 Four Agents Decoction)— nourish the blood and engender flesh, as well as helping the Rǔ xiāng and Mò yào to quicken the blood and relieve pain. A small amount of Ròu guì combined with the Shú dì huáng and Dāng guī helps the production of qì and blood.
Notes: Internal expulsion
