Ingredients

• Shā rén (砂仁 Amomi Fructus, amomum [fruit]) 360g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried) 360g
• Jié gěng (桔梗 Platycodonis Radix, platycodon [root]) 1800g
• Dīng xiāng (丁香 Caryophylli Flos, clove) 180g

Indications: All kinds of cold qì with lancinating pain in the heart [region] and abdomen, glomus and oppression in the chest and diaphragm, distension and fullness in the heart [region] and abdomen, nausea and retching, no pleasure in eating, spleen-stomach disharmony, various forms of damage due to eating and liquor consumption.

Method: Grind the ingredients to a fine powder.

Dosage: 3g at time, taken with boiled water and a little salt.

Notes: The formula name suggests the use of Suō shā rén, generally considered the best.
