Ingredients
- Fù zǐ (附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Praeparata, aconite [accessory root]) (blast-fry till it cracks, then remove skin and navel

- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger) (blast-fried) 15g
- Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) (remove the fine roots) 60g
Indications: Downpour of grain and water or red and white dysentery, with passage of ingested foods without digestion.
Method: Grind to a powder, blend with condensed honey, and form into pills the size of firmiana seeds (wú tóng zǐ).
Dosage: 50 pills morning and evening on an empty stomach, swallowed with a decoction of rice.
Rationale: Dà huáng, Huáng bǎi, and Tiān huā fěn are heat-clearing fire-draining agents that resolve toxin and disperse swelling. Bái zhǐ and Jiāng huáng course wind, quicken the blood, and disperse swelling. Tiān nán xīng, Cāng zhú, Hòu pò, Chén pí, and Gān cǎo dry dampness and transform phlegm, as well as moving qì and relieving pain.
