Calming Matured Ingredients Decoction
平陈汤 〔平陳湯〕 píng chén tāng

Ingredients
- Cāng zhú (苍朮 Atractylodis Rhizoma, atractylodes [rhizome]) 12g
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) 3g
- Bàn xià (半夏 Pinelliae Rhizoma, pinellia [rhizome]) 9g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 9g
- Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 12g
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 6g
- Shēng jiāng (生姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, fresh ginger) 6g
- Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 6g
Actions: Forties the spleen, dries dampness, and transforms phlegm.
Indications: Poor spleen-stomach movement and transformation causing internal damp phlegm obstruction, glomus and fullness in the chest and diaphragm, and in some cases
Method: Decoct with water.
Notes: This is a combination of èr chén tāng (二陈汤 Two Matured Ingredients Decoction) and Píng wèi sǎn (平胃散 Stomach-Calming Powder).
