Antelope Horn Decoction
羚羊角汤 〔羚羊角湯〕 líng yáng jiǎo tāng

Ingredients
- Líng yáng jiǎo (羚羊角 Saigae Tataricae Cornu, antelope horn) 60g
- Guī bǎn (龟版 Testudinis Plastrum, tortoise plastron) 24g
- Shí jué míng (石决明 Haliotidis Concha, abalone shell) 24g
- Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 4.5g
- Xiān máo (仙茅 Curculiginis Rhizoma, curculigo [root]) 3g
- Mǔ dān pí (牡丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 4.5g
- Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 3g
- Bò hé (薄荷 Menthae Herba, mint) 3g
- Jú huā (菊花 Chrysanthemi Flos, chrysanthemum [flower]) 3g
- Xià kū cǎo (夏枯草 Prunellae Spica, prunella [spike]) 4.5g
- Chán tuì (蝉蜕 Cicadae Periostracum, cicada molting) 3g
- Dà zǎo (大枣 Jujubae Fructus, jujube) 10 pieces
Actions: Clears the liver and extinguishes wind; enriches yīn and emolliates the liver.
Indications: Liver fire flaming upward and fascendant hyperactivity of liver yáng with splitting headache stretching into the eyes.
Method: Decoct with water.
