Ingredients

• Xiān shí hú (鲜石斛 Dendrobii Herba Recens, fresh dendrobium) 24g
• Xiān dì huáng (鲜地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Recens, fresh rehmannia [root]) 24g
• Shēng shí gāo (生石膏 Gypsum Crudum, crude gypsum) 24g
• Xuán shēn (玄参 Scrophulariae Radix, scrophularia [root]) 9g
• Lián qiào (连翘 Forsythiae Fructus, forsythia [fruit]) 9g
• Zhī zǐ (栀子 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit]) 6g
• Mǔ dān pí (牡丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 6g
• Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 6g
• Bò hé yè (薄荷叶 Menthae Folium, mint leaf) 2.4g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 2.4g
• Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) 1.5g
• Xī jiǎo (犀角 Rhinocerotis Cornu, rhinoceros horn) (ground and drenched) 1.5g
• Lú gēn (芦根 Phragmitis Rhizoma, phragmites [root]) 30g

• Fèn qīng (粪清 Hominis Excrementi Liquidum Extractum, purified feces) (drenched) 30g
• Xiān zhú yè (鲜竹叶 Lophatheri Folium Recens, fresh lophatherum leaf) 13 pieces

Indications: Epidemic throat sand (yì hóu shā) with dense sand papules (shā zhěn), vigorous heat effusion, vexation and agitation (in severe cases delirium), painful swollen putrefying throat, rapid surging pulse, and a red-crimson or dry black tongue without liquid.

Method: Decoct with water.
