Appendix Stasis-Transforming Decoction
阑尾化瘀汤 〔闌尾化瘀湯〕 lán wěi huà yū tāng

Ingredients
- Chuān liàn zǐ (川楝子 Toosendan Fructus, toosendan [fruit]) 15g
- Yán hú suǒ (延胡索 Corydalis Rhizoma, corydalis [rhizome]) 9g
- Mǔ dān pí (牡丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 9g
- Táo rén (桃仁 Persicae Semen, peach kernel) 9g
- Mù xiāng (木香 Aucklandiae Radix, costusroot) 3g
- Jīn yín huā (金银花 Lonicerae Flos, lonicera [flower]) 15g
- Dà huáng (大黄 Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, rhubarb) 9g
Actions: Moves qì and quickens the blood; clears heat and resolves toxin.
Indications: Intestinal welling-abscess (yōng) (appendicitis or peritonitis) in the stage of stagnation and stasis or suppuration, characterized by mild heat signs, distension and oppression in the stomach duct and abdomen, belching torpid intake (indigestion and reduced eating), and nausea.
Method: Decoct with water.
Dosage: One lot per day, split into two doses.
