Yáng-Returning Root-Reviving Decoction
回阳返本汤 〔回陽返本湯〕 huí yáng fǎn běn tāng

Ingredients
- Fù zǐ (附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Praeparata, aconite [accessory root])
- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger)
- Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
- Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root])
- Mài dōng (麦冬 Ophiopogonis Radix, ophiopogon [root])
- Wǔ wèi zǐ (五味子 Schisandrae Fructus, schisandra [berry])
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel)
- Chá yè (茶叶 Theae Folium, tea [leaf])
Actions: Returns yáng, rescues yīn, and stems desertion.
Indications: Debilitation of yáng qì with insufficiency of yīn liquid, manifesting as counterflow cold of the limbs, profuse sweating,
Notes: This is a variant of Sì nì tāng (四逆汤 Counterflow Cold Decoction).
