Ingredients

• Fù zǐ (附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Praeparata, aconite [accessory root])
• Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger)
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
• Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root])
• Mài dōng (麦冬 Ophiopogonis Radix, ophiopogon [root])
• Wǔ wèi zǐ (五味子 Schisandrae Fructus, schisandra [berry])
• Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel)
• Chá yè (茶叶 Theae Folium, tea [leaf])

Actions: Returns yáng, rescues yīn, and stems desertion.

Indications: Debilitation of yáng qì with insufficiency of yīn liquid, manifesting as counterflow cold of the limbs, profuse sweating, red facial complexion, vexation and agitation, and thirst. Tongue: Smooth and glossy with little fur. Pulse: Faint and on the verge of expiration.

Notes: This is a variant of Sì nì tāng (四逆汤 Counterflow Cold Decoction).
