Rationale: Huáng yào zǐ resolves toxin and disperses swelling, transforms phlegm and disperses binds. Clear liquor helps enhances its effect. Clinical studies show that Huáng yào zǐ is effective in the treatment of thyroid enlargement due to lack of iodine in the diet and for some forms of thyroid enlargement whose etiology is not understood.
