Combined treatment of lung and kidney

肺肾同治 〔肺腎同治〕 fèi shèn tóng zhì

Simultaneous treatment of lung yīn vacuity and kidney yīn vacuity to treat cough with counterflow qì ascent, coughing of blood, loss of voice, steaming bone tidal heat, dry mouth, night sweating, seminal emission, aching lumbus and limp legs, emaciation, red tongue with scant fur, and rapid fine pulse. Medicinals used include adenophora/glehnia (Adenophorae seu Glehniae Radix, 沙参 shā shēn), asparagus (Asparagi Radix, 天门冬 tiān mén dōng), ophiopogon (Ophiopogonis Radix, 麦门冬 mài mén dōng), Solomon’s seal (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma, 玉竹 yù zhú), dried/fresh rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, 生地黄 shēng dì huáng), cooked rehmannia (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 熟地黄 shú dì huáng), ligustrum (Ligustri Lucidi Fructus, 女贞子 nǚ zhēn zǐ), lycium berry (Lycii Fructus, 枸杞子 gǒu qǐ zǐ), and eclipta (Ecliptae Herba, 墨旱莲 mò hàn lián).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly LU and KI. Select BL-13 (Lung Transport, 肺俞 fèi shù), BL-23 (Kidney Transport, 肾俞 shèn shù), BL-43 (Gāo-Huāng Transport, 膏肓俞 gāo huāng shù), LU-5 (Cubit Marsh, 尺泽 chǐ zé), KI-6 (Shining Sea, 照海 zhào hǎi), and KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī); needle with supplementation.
