Yīn mounting

阴疝 〔陰疝〕yīn shàn

1. Also reversal mounting. A mounting disease characterized by acute pain of the testicles and genitals attributed to cold evil invading the liver channel.

Medicinal therapy: Warm and transform; move qì. Use Liver-Warming Brew (暖肝煎 nuǎn gān jiān).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LR, SP, and CV. Select CV-3 (Central Pole, 中极 zhōng jí), LR-8 (Spring at the Bend, 曲泉 qū quán), LR-2 (Moving Between, 行间 xíng jiān), LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng), KI-10 (Yīn Valley, 阴谷 yīn gǔ), LR-1 (Large Pile, 大敦 dà dūn), SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo), and KI-3 (Great Ravine, 太溪 tài xī); needle with drainage and adding moxa. Alternatively, apply direct moxa at LR-3 (Supreme Surge, 太冲 tài chōng) and LR-1 (Large Pile, 大敦 dà dūn).

2. A generic term for slumping mounting, cold mounting, and reversal mounting.
