Clearing heat and disinhibiting dampness

清热利湿 〔清熱利濕〕qīng rè lì shī

A method of treatment used to address lower burner damp-heat characterized by urgency and distension of the smaller abdomen, murky reddish urine, pain on urination, dribbling urination, and yellow slimy tongue fur.

Medicinal therapy: Heat-clearing dampness-disinhibiting formulas include Eight Corrections Powder (八正散 bā zhèng sǎn) and Pyrrosia Powder (石苇散 shí wéi sǎn).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on CV and SP. Needle with drainage at BL-28 (Bladder Transport, 膀胱俞 páng guāng shù), CV-3 (Central Pole, 中极 zhōng jí), SP-9 (Yīn Mound Spring, 阴陵泉 yīn líng quán), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo).
