Tension of the sinews
筋脉拘急 〔筋脈拘急〕jīn mài jū jí
Tension of the sinews preventing normal bending and stretching. Sinew hypertonicity is mostly attributable to contraction of wind-cold in general vacuity, or to blood or liquid vacuity depriving the sinew vessels of nourishment. It is observed in lockjaw pò shāng fēng, tetany jìng, impediment (bì), fright wind jīng fēng, and wind stroke zhòng fēng.
