Tension of the sinews

筋脉拘急 〔筋脈拘急〕jīn mài jū jí

Tension of the sinews preventing normal bending and stretching. Sinew hypertonicity is mostly attributable to contraction of wind-cold in general vacuity, or to blood or liquid vacuity depriving the sinew vessels of nourishment. It is observed in lockjaw pò shāng fēng, tetany jìng, impediment (), fright wind jīng fēng, and wind stroke zhòng fēng.

Medicinal therapy: Use Five Accumulations Powder (五积散 wǔ jī sǎn) to dispel wind and disperse cold or use Four Agents Decoction (四物汤 sì wù tāng) to nourish blood and increase humor.

Acumoxatherapy: Needle the meeting point of the sinews, GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), and add other points according to cause and location.
