Summerheat-damp streaming sore

暑湿流注 〔暑濕流注〕shǔ shī liú zhù

A streaming sore arising when contraction of summerheat-damp is followed by contraction of cold evil that fetters provisioning and defense in the flesh and causes qì and blood to stagnate. A summerheat-damp streaming sore is marked by diffuse white local swelling and slight heat and painand is accompanied by general signs such as aversion to cold, heat effusion, oppression in the chest, reduced eating, and joint pain.

Medicinal therapy: Resolve toxin, clear summerheat, and transform dampness. Use Six-to-One Powder (六一散 liù yī sǎn) plus eupatorium (Eupatorii Herba, 佩兰 pèi lán), patchouli (Pogostemonis Herba, 藿香 huò xiāng), violet (Violae Herba cum Radice, 地丁 dì dīng), scutellaria (Scutellariae Radix, 黄芩 huáng qín), gardenia (Gardeniae Fructus, 山栀子 shān zhī zǐ), and peach kernel (Persicae Semen, 桃仁 táo rén).
