Steaming disease

蒸病 〔蒸病〕zhēng bìng

Also taxation steaming. From The Origin and Indicators of Disease (诸病源候论 zhū bìng yuán hòu lùn). Various diseases characterized by tidal heat that appears to emanate from within the body, steaming up to the surface; the most notable example is steaming bones. Steaming diseases include the five steamings—steaming bone, steaming vessels, steaming skin, steaming flesh, and internal steaming. Of these, only steaming bone is mentioned frequently in modern literature.
