Steam-wash

熏洗 〔熏洗〕 xūn xǐ

1. vb. To steam and/or bathe parts of the body, usually with a medicinal decoction. Steam-washing usually involves steaming followed by washing. The warmth of the steam and fluids helps to move qì and blood. The medicinals used also help the healing action. Steam-washing is commonly used in the treatment of eye diseases such as red swollen eyelids, red whites of the eye, and sore dry eyes averse to light.
