Qì vacuity advanced menstruation
气虚经行先期 〔氣虛經行先期〕qì xū jīng xíng xiān qī
Advanced menstruation (i.e., premature arrival of periods) due to qì vacuity. Qì vacuity advanced menstruation occurs when constitutional vacuity, damage to the spleen by thought and anxiety, or dietary irregularities lead to center qì vacuity. It is marked by continual unabating abdominal pain that is exacerbated by taxation fatigue and relieved by pressure. There is reduced food intake, withered-yellow facial complexion, low faint voice, shortness of breath, and a rough fine or large vacuous pulse. In severe original qì vacuity, there may be a racing pulse.
Medicinal therapy: Supplement qì and contain the blood; fortify the spleen and secure the thoroughfare (chōng) vessel. Use
Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on the CV and three yīn channels of the foot. Select CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), CV-6 (Sea of Qì, 气海 qì hǎi), BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), SP-2 (Great Metropolis, 大都 dà dū), and LR-8 (Spring at the Bend, 曲泉 qū quán); needle with supplementation and add moxa.
