Putrefying throat wind
烂喉风 〔爛喉風〕làn hóu fēng
Throat wind (sudden severe swelling and soreness of the throat) marked by putrefaction and ulceration. Putrefying throat wind attributed to lung-stomach heat toxin scorching the throat. The throat is swollen, sore, and ulcerated, with a gray-white or gray-yellow surface that is easily wiped off. The edge of the affected area is irregular. Other signs include foul breath, sore tongue, and alternating generalized heat and aversion to cold.
