Phlegm depression

痰郁 〔痰鬱〕tán yù

A phlegm pattern caused by phlegm and qì becoming depressed and bound, and characterized by panting on exertion, cough, oppression in the chest, blockage in the throat, and a pulse that is sunken and slippery.

Medicinal therapy: Flush phlegm and resolve depression, using Phlegm Depression Decoction (痰郁汤 tán yù tāng).
