Medicinal preparation
剂型 〔劑型〕jì xíng
The final form in which medicinals (usually the various ingredients of a formula) are administered, taken, or applied. Commonly used preparations are given in the table below. The most common preparation taken orally is the decoction, whereby the natural medicinals are simply boiled by patients themselves or those attending them. Recent technological advances have led to the development of new preparations such as soluble granules, tablets, and injection fluids, which are quicker acting, more effective, more convenient to use, and more accurately dose-controlled.
