Blood vacuity abdominal pain

血虚腹痛 〔血虛腹痛〕xuè xū fù tòng

Abdominal pain due to blood vacuity that results from excessive loss of blood or when excessive thought and anxiety cause wear on yīn blood. Blood vacuity abdominal pain is a mild pain of unfixed locationand is exacerbated by hunger and taxation. It is accompanied by a withered-yellow facial complexion, fatigue and lack of strength, and a rough fine or rapid fine pulse.

Medicinal therapy: Supplement the blood and relieve the center using formulas such as Four Agents Decoction (四物汤 sì wù tāng) plus costusroot (Aucklandiae (seu Vladimiriae) Radix, 木香 mù xiāng) and tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chén pí), or Chinese Angelica Center-Fortifying Decoction (当归建中汤 dāng guī jiàn zhōng tāng) and variations.

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on the back transport points and CV, selecting BL-20 (Spleen Transport, 脾俞 pí shù), BL-21 (Stomach Transport, 胃俞 wèi shù), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), CV-12 (Center Stomach Duct, 中脘 zhōng wǎn), CV-4 (Pass Head, 关元 guān yuán), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo). Needle with supplementation.
