Heart cough

Also heart channel cough. Cough accompanied by pain in the heart, swollen throat.

Medicinal therapy: Use Platycodon Decoction (桔梗汤 jié gěng tāng) or Diaphragm-Cooling Powder (凉膈散 liáng gé sǎn) minus rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 大黄 dà huáng) and mirabilite (Natrii Sulfas, 芒硝 máng xiāo) and plus coptis (Coptidis Rhizoma, 黄连 huáng lián) and lophatherum (Lophatheri Herba, 淡竹叶 dàn zhú yè).

Acumoxatherapy: Base treatment mainly on LU, PC, CV, and HT. Select BL-13 (Lung Transport, 肺俞 fèi shù), LU-5 (Cubit Marsh, 尺泽 chǐ zé), CV-17 (Chest Center, 膻中 shān zhōng), PC-6 (Inner Pass, 内关 nèi guān) CV-14 (Great Tower Gate, 巨阙 jù què), LU-1 (Central Treasury, 中府 zhōng fǔ), LI-4 (Union Valley, 合谷 hé gǔ), and PC-8 (Palace of Toil, 劳宫 láo gōng); needle with drainage, and prick LU-11 (Lesser Shang, 少商 shào shāng) and HT-8 (Lesser Mansion, 少府 shào fǔ) to bleed.
