Green-blue wind internal obstruction

青风内障 〔青風內障〕qīng fēng nèi zhàng

Also green-blue wind. A disease of the eye in which the pupil takes on a green-blue color and is sometimes dilated, accompanied by a faint red areola surrounding the black wheel (ciliary congestion). Green-blue wind internal obstruction is accompanied by mild distension in the head, mild aversion to light and tearing, and gradual decrease in visual acuity. If appropriate treatment is not given, it can turn into green wind internal obstruction. It is caused by liver-kidney yīn vacuity with wind-fire harassing the upper body.

Medicinal therapy: Nourish yīn and clear heat; calm the liver and extinguish wind. Use formulas like Green Wind Antelope Horn Beverage (绿风羚羊饮 lǜ fēng líng yáng yǐn).
