Green wind internal obstruction
绿风内障 〔綠風內障〕lǜ fēng nèi zhàng
Also green wind; green water pouring into the eye. A disease of the eye in which the pupil becomes turbid and light green in color, causing loss of visual acuity and giving lights the appearance of being surrounded by a rainbow-like halo. Other signs include distended pain stretching into the eye sockets, forehead, nose and jaw, nausea and vomiting, and faint red areola surrounding the black wheel (ciliary congestion). Green wind internal obstruction is caused by liver-gallbladder wind-fire harassing the upper body, or hyperactivity of yáng due to yīn vacuity and disharmony of the qì and blood.
Biomedical correspondence: glaucoma.
Medicinal therapy: Clear heat, calm the liver, and extinguish wind. Use
