Five minds
五志 〔五志〕wǔ zhì
Joy, anger, joy, thought, worry, and fear; five basic forms of mental and emotional activity. Anger is associated with the liver, joy with the heart, thought with the spleen, worry with the lung, and fear with the kidney. In excess, they can cause disease, especially of the viscus they are each associated with. See mind; excess among the five minds; internal damage by the seven affects.
